Concretely, Pydantic AI Gateway gives your team one place for provider access, API keys, routing, and cost controls. Requests pass through in their native format, with no translation to a single schema, so new provider features work immediately. Server-side limits compose cleanly at the org, project, user, and session level, rather than being scattered across team configurations. Gateway telemetry flows into Logfire as traces, where you can inspect calls in Live View next to the rest of your application's telemetry. Pydantic AI can use the Gateway directly, and any provider-compatible client can point at it too.
So your first few Gateway requests are not just a trial of model inference. They are a trial of the operating layer around it: keys, limits, routing, traces, and spend visibility in one place.
One pattern worth naming, because we keep seeing it in customer conversations: plenty of teams adopt the Gateway and Logfire together for cost visibility and observability, long before they pick up Pydantic AI, or without ever doing so. How to claim it
