The Opportunity
We're hiring the person who owns the numbers behind our growth engine.
Pydantic's reach is enormous: 1 billion monthly downloads of Pydantic Validation, and fast-accelerating adoption of Pydantic AI. Pydantic Logfire, our commercial observability platform, is how the business runs.
Growing it requires knowing what's working: which content converts, which usage signals predict a paying team, where the funnel leaks. Right now that analysis happens ad hoc. Your job is to make it systematic so teams know what's working and where to push next.
You'll report to our Head of Growth and work alongside our Growth Engineer, DevRel & Growth Marketer, and Product Marketer. You won't be handed clean dashboards. You'll build them, from a warehouse with data-quality problems to untangle.
What You'll Do
- Own growth analytics end to end: dashboards, funnel and cohort analysis, and the weekly reporting the team runs on
- Analyze the path from developer mindshare to revenue: website and docs traffic, content performance, signups, activation, and conversion into Logfire pipeline
- Define and maintain lead scoring model: which product-usage and marketing signals actually predict conversion, validated against outcomes rather than gut feel
- Design experiments from your findings and analyze the results: sample sizes, success metrics, and honest write-ups, including when the result is "this didn't work". The Growth Engineer builds and ships them with you
- Hunt down data-quality issues (attribution gaps, broken tracking, misleading metrics) and get them fixed
- Turn analysis into a prioritized backlog of growth recommendations, and defend it
Who You Are
- Strong SQL. This is a hard requirement: you'll spend a large part of your week querying our warehouse directly
- Experience analyzing a product-led funnel: you know the difference between a signup, an activated user, and a product-qualified lead
- Rigorous about causality: you notice confounders, seasonality, and broken tracking before you present a chart
- A crisp communicator: your findings change decisions because people understand them
- You use AI tooling to move faster: for query drafting, data cleaning, and everything repetitive
- Bonus: BigQuery, Python for analysis, or experience at a developer tools, observability, or PLG company
About Us
Pydantic Validation is the data validation library that powers modern Python development: 1 billion downloads per month, used by virtually every tech company you've heard of. We're applying the same engineering mindset to Pydantic Logfire, our observability platform with first-class support for AI engineering, and Pydantic AI, our rapidly growing agent framework.
We commit over 20% of our engineering team to our open source ecosystem, build on open standards (OpenTelemetry, SQL, Postgres), and are backed by Sequoia Capital. We run a fully remote team across the US, Canada, and Europe with regular in-person offsites.
How We Work
- Developers come first: we built the most downloaded Python library in the world by earning developer trust, not by chasing growth. That's how we expect growth to work here too.
- Fully remote: distributed across the US, Canada, and Europe, async by default, together in person three times a year.
- Autonomy with a bias to action: small teams with real ownership. We hire people we trust and then trust the people we hire.
